Whats New: (now including all TrigTools)

• As from Jan '05 I'm basically abandoning this page in favour of the by month summery.
• The Coordinate converter can actully convert OSGB Grid Ref <-> WGS84 Lat/Longcoordinates now!!
  I finally found a Perl Module to do the conversion, but gives OSGB36 Lat/Long so ported the OS Helmert Transformation
• Finally got round to making the Gazetter searchable by Grid Reference
• Rod has started scanning the 1GL abstract - UPDATE: finished - its a transcription project now!
• Launch of a new website: www.mapping.org.uk
  
  
• We have a map of the Primary Triangluation of Great Britain, anybody fancy helping to digitise this map? I have a list of all the startions (will a printable map), just would need to list all the rays depicted as pairs of stations.
• We have a map of the Primary Lines from the Third Geodetic Levelling to complement the interactive version
• New Feature Search (look for webpages mentioning a Location)
• Abstract of RE-LEVELLING OF LONDON has been made available (more details to follow)
• Small update to the MSN OSBM Group Wall Bracket Page, the scraper now records the user who uploaded the image, so this is displayed along with a filter to show just finds by that user!
• Plates from OS Annual Reports 1954-67 showing Levelling Progress (soon to include some plates from triangulation)
• New Bookmarklet: Co-ordinate Converter (add this to your favorites!)
  Select a GR or Postcode in ANY webpage and click on the favorite and you will be taken here with the coordinate filled!
• the site is now available at www.TrigTools.co.uk
• The Map page now has base mapping showing
  Motorways, A Roads and Built Up areas!!!!!!

• Finally added Secondary Trig Points to the Mapping! (example)
• Tweaked the Coordinate converter. Few new features including OS Map Tile Refs (I implemented it a while back just forgot to add to page!) and a link to Triangulation Secondary Blocks
• new Index to OSBM Wall Brackets
• The Map page now shows the GR of the mouse cursor when then map is centered on a grid ref (Example) - let me know if you have any problems as I haven't tested it on all browsers yet!
• ALL Primary 2GL lines have now been transcribed - so its plotting and visiting that needs doing!
• New 2GL Transcription Progress Map
• Updated FB List [Warning: about 1.5M] page to use latest data from OSBM.
• Added Primary TrigPoints and Secondary Blocks to theMapping
• Updated Co-ordinate Converter to show County (as well as LR/EXP) of a GR
• Added some details from some Abstacts of Re-levelling of Greater London (1931-34).
• Updated the scraper of OSBM data, so more reliable
• The Mapping Page has been further tweaked (mainly backend changes)
• Updated the list of FB types in the FAQ
• Kew References updated with a list of files I viewed.
• Minor updates to many pages (mainly bug fixes)
• New Datum Page, shows datums worked on by the OS, Both vertical (Height) and geodetic (East & North).
• The Mapping Page has been updated, with more configurable options. Including by Explorer or Landranger map.
• Added link to Surveying and mapping - report by the OS (Brief introduction to cartography and mapmaking)
• Sources Page - where we are getting all this information!

     Since finding data for 1GL and starting to make sence of the further 2GL lines, it needs a whole new site!
• update to List of FBM's (data cleaned up and new filters)
• The Templates now pre-fill the FBM data for you!
     Also any FB's already transcribed on other line are pre-filled!
• Check Distances and Check FBM's
• Compare to OSBM data
• Map showing Levelling Lines - improved
• Height Profile (on stats page) - see what the levelling line looked like
• Sort the Lines we currently Know about List
• Download a Clean CSV for each line we know about

Things we know need to be sorted, or new features to be added... (in no particaular order)

• Link the GR to different map services
• Overlay the Lines onto somesort of Map, its been suggested a 1932 road map.
• Allow members to upload the CSV files directly!
